grey layers - faux leather jacket, asymmetric cardigan, lace up boots

Layering is essential when you work and live in NYC - it might be freezing outside, but super hot in your office! So it's always a good idea to wear layers, where it's easy to shed if needed.

I'll be honest, I purchased this faux leather jacket because it reminded me of this KPOP male idol I liked at that time... I don't know why I dropped $100 on this nonbrand jacket from some random Chinese site I found... But hey, I got compliments from people when I wore it, so I guess it wasn't a waste! It's really warm, with the faux fur lining and since I got a slightly larger size, I was able to fit a thicker cardigan underneath, unlike the tight leather jackets I own. Unfortunately, I lost the belt!

The asymmetric hem or shark tooth hem cardigan is fun and easy to wear. You can layer it up for a cozy look, or throw it over a dress for a night out. Here, I wore it over a simple black cami and gray boucle shorts inspired by dolphin shorts, but modernized with leather piping and waistband. All these (not quite 50 yet) shades of grey creates a monochromatic layered look.

To top off my "cool city" look (haha I wish!), I wore my new thigh high lace up boots. Not only are they fashionable, but easy to wear since you can loosen them if your calf circumference isn't as tiny as those models... or wear it with an open top look.
